Hello TFF Members! With the water temps in the low to mid 50s on Lake Fork, expect to find bass in both deep and shallow water. On colder days I like to focus in 25-35 near main lake points, ledges, humps, and creek channels. These bass can usually be caught best with a carolina rig, spoon, or heavy spinnerbait once found with your electronics. For the shallow fisherman, on the warmer days the bite has been good in the front 1/3 of major creeks using 1/4 to 3/8 jigs on heavy timbered points and creek channels in 8-12 ft. Use a black and blue jig in dirty water or on overcast days and a use a brown/green color jig in clearer water or on sunny days in stained water. On windy days shallow flat sided crankbaits, medium diving crankbaits, and red 1/2 oz lipless baits have been the best bait. Look for 5-15 ft areas that are within a few hundred yards from the shallow wind protected areas where bass will soon spawn.
