Agree 100%. It's not like you're at a concert and pay to see them. The boats are nothing more than a nuisance that is hurting their job. They always thank the fans because it's the right thing to do but deep down, you know they would rather you give them some space and lay off. I have respect for people working. I watch it on TV.

This EXACTLY. Very well put.

If you want to see what's it's like to fish with a pro. Register for the opens. Haha. You won't get much closer to the action then.

I didn't realize fishing was work; I have been working two jobs for a long time.

I'd go if they were fishing a lake I usually fish.....just to go over and use my electronics and "see" what they were fishing.....(when they've left...of course)....

It is only a couple of hours away for me but I doubt I will take the boat and follow them around. I did that at the PAA on Tawakoni a few years back and people lose their minds when taking off to another spot to follow someone. It was borderline insanity. Like was said before, if they were fishing a lake I fish also then I might follow to see what they are doing that I dont. On Tawakoni they fished docks and visible cover. Didn't get much out of that one other than burning a lot of gas.

I can appreciate your perspective, but I have a different opinion. Most, if not all, of them have spent their life savings and put all they have into becoming fishing celebrities. CELEBRITIES. If they just wanted to be good fisherman without having to deal with the crowds, they would approach it as a hobby, not as a living. It comes with the territory- they know this. So if you want to chase to learn technique, find some new spots or just enjoy the spectatorship of pro bass fishing, fill'er up and giddy up! Mind your dstance, be respectful, be safe.

I volunteered to do this too, but backed out. I decided to take my son fishing instead. Was a great day for us and we saw some tourney boats, but there was still a lot of open lake available.

It sounds like following to find "new spots" seems to be a pretty popular reason given on this thread to "trail" a pro.

For the record, I have no interest chasing tourney pros for any reason. I certainly would never chase a guide for a new spot or return to a spot revealed by a guide on a paid trip. Those are trade secrets in my opinion. Hard working guides deserve the respect of confidentiality.

I don't think I will be chasing anyone especially to fish one of their spots. I really like the challenge of studying the maps and finding my own fish. From what I have read about Hartwell this will be good opportunity to drop on some big spots. I guess if Ike comes up and sees me catching fish I'll just give him the KVD speech!! Actually I hope to run across some of them doing what they do best and learn what I can.

Now that would be funny. Give 'em the free world speech. Lol. Then bet him in the next 20 minutes you can catch a bigger fish than him. Little "side bet"! Haha.

Ike is a hoot. Definitely one of the sport's more colorful celebrities! He definitely knows how to fish for the Camera. Kills me with his running back and forth in the boat with a fish. Hope I get to see that in person.

I went out and watched the last New Orleans Classic for the Saturday, it was cool to see but I kept my distance from them. I did get to see a TOTAL J@ckA$$ in a fish-n-ski with a Ipilot start casting between A Mart and KVD !!! Martins calmly trolled over to him and asked him to stop. DON'T BE THAT GUY

That's pretty rude and ballsy. If I were hanging back watching a pro, I would have a hard time restraining myself with someone that did that.
