 Bastrop Bank Fishing Report?

Hey guys! Great weather this weekend! Myself and a few buds are looking to hit Bastrop for the first time and don't wanna get skunked! I hear it's a bass lake primarily and has some cats? I know Granger is better for cats, etc-- Any recent visits that you can report to help us have a great time? Thanks!!  ( I will probably have 2 cat lines set and 1 active bass rod)

I have always fished Bastrop by boat.  That lake can be difficult from the bank.  The lake holds some very nice Bass and has a good population of Channel Cats. I don't have any current information.  Good luck. Hope you guys do good.  Let us know how you do if you make it out there.

Thanks for the info!
My bud was talking about Bastrop State Park also? I imagine that may be over-fished compared? Says the Bass are great and Cats are good, but not sure how well that holds.

The State Park has two small lakes. They get fished hard during the spring and summer.

I have always fished Bastrop by boat(or yak), but I have seen people fishing off the bank at the south shore park. Ive seen a few nice bass caught around the boat ramp and off of the boat dock there.

Try nearby Bucher state park. Small lake easily fished from shore.
