^^^ I like that idea. I tied a bunch of Gurglers last year and never thought to add eyes on the back to make a shrimp. Thanks! I have been tying some RS2 and BWO for my trip next month to LMF. I started out tying flies for trout and realized I was way over my head tying those tiny flies. Spent a year learning all types of flies and now I'm back to trying the allusive dry fly tying. Come to read it's one of the most difficult flies to tie. I do like the simplicity of the RS2. I will try this afternoon to get some pics....cell phone can't focus that small.
I had rotator cuff surgery Dec. 10th so I am still on the mend and can't fish but I did sit at the vise the other day and tried to knock the rust off. Size 6 shrimp gurgler.
Hope you are healing fast.
I very new to tying but I was introduced to Gurglers last fall and love how they toss up the water. I have been doubling over my 2mm foam to get what I think is the desired thickness. Would you please tell me what thickness foam you used and where you got it? Tks in advance.

I will use 2mm when I'm tying small gurglers for brim but most of the ones I tie including the shrimp gurgler pictured are tied with 3mm foam. I believe most of the foam sheets I've purchased were from Hobby Lobby. Some of the variety packs I've seen are 2mm but if you get it off the rack that has individual sheets you can find 3mm. D.

Thanks for posting those flies. Nicely done! I'm still messing with glass bead midge patterns. I got some new midge size Killer Caddis glass beads and you know how it is... I've just got to play with the new toys. These are tied on 22 hooks. I know this is not very small for some of you, but they're the smallest hooks I have on hand. (They are also a royal bear to photograph with my cheap lens...) Here's my week 4 fly: Mercury Midge Mustad C49S size 22 Copper Killer Caddis glass bead size midge Copper Ultra Wire size X-SM White Danville 70 denier thread

Moon, I really like that second fly. The others are good, but that ought to be deadly!

Bluegill Popovic's-style Bucktail Deceiver. Bars didn't come out well with brown so had to go with a black sharpie. I'll try airbrushing the next set.

Accidentally discovered Fish-Skull Baitfish weighted heads and may never tie a Clouser again. Sooo easy to use. My biggest challenge was keeping the glue off the 3D eyes during the application process. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
