Anyone catching striper on Canyon Lake this winter? If so, what area of the lake is best this time of year (north end, south end, mid lake)? What depth are the shad schooled up and hanging out in? What is the current water temp? This lake is allot deeper and clearer than my home lakes around Houston. I have a trip coming up later this month and haven't fished it since August...

Thanks in advance!

I haven't fish the main lake but I have had luck in the upper Guadalupe. In Jan I tore up the striper and in late Jan I didn't do so well. The river has not been great after all the rain. I would definitely give the Guad a shot . The size isn't real big but you do have a good chance of catching numbers. 14-18+ is what you can expect.
