Gerrr, I am still mad about it, anyways it was a little bit rough out there today.

BFOTD was a 2.11 then a 2.07 and a 2.00 with a few more.

How is it possible to catch a fish amongst all that bait?

Caught them with this.

My phone didn't ring all day.

Headed out to hole #1, let the TM down and eased up on it, tossed the marker out.

Pitched the jig out and before it could get to the desired depth, Thump, I got in about 4 cranks and then the line broke at the knot. Tied on another Thump Buddy, pitched it out, Thump, landed a 2 pounder. (I was thinking this is going to be good.)

Pitched out again and before it could get to the desired depth, Thump, missed! Repeat and missed again! Pitched out, this time my rod tip goes 3 foot under the surface on the Thump! I get about 6 or 7 cranks on her and the line breaks about 4 inches from the reel. I look down at the water and all that slack line is floating on the surface. I do my best belly flop on the deck and with my shoulders and arms over board, I grab the line and start a Hand to Hand Combat with this fish. I still got her on and she is coming my way, I am looking at the net and there no way to get to it, as I am still on my belly.

The sad part is, that is brand new fishing string. Junk!

I should have known better.

Anyways this is what she left me with as she departed.

If it wasn't for days like that there would be no good boat ramp stories. Nice job Kirk.

when my dad was living and i was younger, that hand to hand combat is the way we brought our fish in on a regular basis.Only difference is,daddy called it "well roping". i would always reel mines in,of course losing my depth.then my dad told me to rope him in,what? remember how you go the well and get water?,yes sir, same thing.unless you happen to latch onto a huge catfish and/or bass, well roping it was.sorry to hear about the broke line."Fresh line" and keep up the good work!

So you're saying I need to hire a delivery truck? When I turned off the shop lights yesterday, and I saw all those little frogs glowing on the table, all I could think about is how many three pounders you would've caught had I shown up to the boat ramp.

I appreciate you sending me pictures, letting me get a really accurate idea of exactly what I'm missing.

What I was trying to say is, you sent me that New Frog picture just to tease me. You know I am going to order some, just thought you might need try them out first hand and see if the would get wet before you made a peg board full of them. Being the nice guy that I am, I was just trying to help you out.

I have found some big fish, I just don't know how to catch them. I am learning something new each trip, good or bad.

The way my snake bit luck is going, a 3 pound carp is in my near future.

Oh and thanks for rubbing it in, when you turned off the shop light. All that I can think about, is how dark it is in 37 FOW! Thanks!

You 3 pound Carp's, better watch out cuz I am on a roll.
