Is it worth the trip to the end of jetty, I find that is not very comfortable walking out there but might make trip if it be worth it

It's worth it during the months when the water is a bit warmer, say from April through November, maybe even December. Right now not much other than sheepies, whiting, and Big Uglies, (and possibly redfish) depending on where/how you fish off the end.

Come warmer water time you'll find, spanish & (king) macks, pompano, jackfish, redfish, trout, sharks, gafftop, etc amongst other species, showing up on both the channel and surf side. Where and how to catch them is the question based on what & how you want to fish out there.

Will say this; the absolute largest speckled trout I've ever seen was while standing on the south jetty. Easily 30+" inches, would truly estimate 34" or more. Saw it less than two feet from my toes. Would guess it was over 12 lb's. Literally a trout of a lifetime.

hope this helps
