My brother is comming to visit me. He is bringing his fly fishing equipment( i dont fly fish but i could learn), i fish for bass.
where would you recommend to take him?
i was thinking to do Broken Bow LMF. one day fly fishing lmf and second day on the bb lake for bass and maybe he can do fly fishing there, i will have to bring my boat for that.
i live in west fort worth so i wonder if there any other options around west fort worth for fly? i read that some guys go to PK below the damm, will that be another option? or is LMF better?

LMF is far better for trout, but the drive from over there would be 4 hours.
Trinity Park in Ft Worth may have some trout left for fishing and fly fishing. they stocked it a few weeks ago.
From where you live the Guadalupe might be just as good as LMF.....

Broken Bow lake is not gonna be easy to fly fish, its very very deep & gin clear, with little vegetation, most bass are caught in water 10' or deeper, I aint saying you cant do it, but there are better options.

I'd take him up to the upper mountain fork for smallies, sandies and those big hybrid sunfish.

I'll second squaw just make sure you get a reservation early Monday. This time of year probably midnight on Sunday would be best for either Friday Saturday or Sunday of that following week. They only let 100 boats on I don't know how familiar you are with it being from aledo I would think you know about it though. If not get on luminant power website to place your reservation. Fish should be full spawn mode so shallow for the fly guy will make it easy for both of you. Then if you want y'all could still make a run to pk and get who knows what kind of mixed bag,and fish instead of driving. Hope y'all have a great time.

Squaw has been a bit spotty this year my spots out there normally really turn on first to mid February. I would think he would fish for bass there with you. If yo do go brokenbow the walleye may be up the river on their spawning run.

where would it be safe to have my boat parked while we fly fish the LMF? Broken Bow lake is a beautiful lake but back when we were doing more Bass fishing I liked Pine Creek lake better (it is just a short drive from the town of Broken Bow). I really have a feeling once you are on the LMF you will want to spend both days there.

Walleye should be biting. Jerkbaits....so I'd say clouser should be good for fly fishing. Smallies and spotted bass in there too.

If you stay at the Lakeview Lodge you can just leave your boat there and they have a boat ramp on site. Rooms are just so so but the view of the sunrise in the morning is great along with a free little breakfast.

You could always go down to the Austin/San Marcos area and fish the guad and maybe a power plant lake like Bastrop.
