I can't tell you too much about Rayburn, but here on Toledo Bend they went deeper last week and now they are catching them in the "chicken coop" now.

Hey Trey
It's good timing for your Rayburn trip. The crappie have been biting very well around and north of the 103 bridge. My best bite has been around 15 ft deep in the river channel. Jigs or shiners are both getting bit. The lake level is only 2-3 foot below normal pool so you can use either Ewing or Etoile park ramps making for a short run to the fish. It's no trouble finding the river channel, just look for the boats. Good luck.

Hope he did better than others that I heard from. They said the bite was slow over the weekend. Im sure the water temp. has warmed back up. Another cool down should turn them back on.

Hit the water Sunday afternoon and the bite sure was slow talked to other anglers that said it had been all day. Right at dark turned on for a few minutes then went back to being slow fished just north of the 103 bridge...

Hey Whitecap. My brother and I went on Friday evening and Saturday morning. He caught two good catfish right off the bat. We couldn't find any crappie in the river channel north of the bridge. We came back to a spot about fifty yards north of the bridge and I caught three right before dark. They were at five feet in about 15 feet of water. Saturday, we went at the crack of dawn and caught eight keepers from the bridge pilings. Had to leave at about ten o'clock. Going back Tuesday-Thursday. Everyone said that they killed em last week, but not so good since. How about you?

I've been working on the house and so have not been back. We are shooting for moving in next weekend. After that I will still have plenty to do but it can be done in between fishing trips. If it doesnt muddy up to bad, hopefully this cold rain should cool the water back down and help the river channel bite.
