So I've been lookin on here and don't see much about RR on here so was just wondering how everyone is doing. I haven't got to fish much the past few years and I'm finally able to get back on the water. crappie fishing is my thing during the spawn but I've just never went out the winter and would like to start. So if anyone has any helpful tips I would gladly listen and try some things out.
Thank you
-Justin

Ray Roberts can be very tough in the winter. I quit running trips there until this spring. But if I were to go I would target the deepest core piles I could find. Out to 45ft. I would try both minnows and jigs. Also find bait and try to fish amongst it. My preferred method this time of year is slow trolling. Hope this helps

Find the bait! thats key. I went out friday night with my girlfriends dad and we found a school of shad, started dropping our bait down around 11:30pm and kept yanking them in until 1:00am. It was a blast!

I would not troll in Ray Roberts. If you do, you'll lose a lot of gear. It's full of trees.

I've done it many times and have caught some big fish.

You mention the core piles, is there a list some place where they say where they placed the piles or is it just a matter of going out there and finding them? I've looked on the internet but haven't had much success, only found the list for Texoma.

Buy the Hook n Line map as Earnest Paty's list of core bp coordinates are in the new version of the map. It's money well spent!
