Forced into retirememt 12 yes early due to work injury, doctors want to operate haven't proved to me they know what's wrong with back. Anyway think I can sit in boat just as good as chairs at home. Just moved to Santo about equal distance to PK or Lake proctor read online Proctor got excellent Crappie fishing. I have never been on that lake. Could someone plz give info on seasonal crappie habits on the lake, which end of lake to begin. Spring,Summer Fall and winter. Are the Spawning grounds in the 2 arms that come in at lower end of Lake? Post spawn where do they go? Is there timber on the lake? Hidden stumps? Corp of engineers made brushpiles? Just install Lowrance Elite 7 with Chirp with Hotmaps PPlatinum chip not sure if any thing on GPS map haven't had boat out yet there. Planning on week trip later this month. Input would greatly be appreciated.

The lake is so low it would be hard to give any advice. The areas I fish are all but high and dry. The face of the dam is a good place under normal water levels but this year will be a [censored] shoot.

When you say face of dam, is there some kind of structure there that holds fish in certain location. Are you drifting open water? Or dropoff?

I don't know for sure but I have heard the locals say its the time there in the spring when they spawn you might want to try the timbered area over on the arm to west by copperas cove

Lake Proctor is currently 12.65 feet below pool thus the upper and lower arms are high and dry. As to timber it is minimal with the majority in the upper and lower arms. To my knowledge there are no corp brush piles, Lake map shows a few which no longer exist with the exception of 1. Majority of the crappie condos are man made as well as currently on dry ground. Sowell Creek day use boat ramp is the only ramp currently open although 4 wheel drive would be a big plus if using it. Fishing brush piles spring, early summer, and winter are excellent when we have water. With the current lake level there are a number of hazards just below the surface thus exercise caution.
