Thinking about adding a power pole. Probably just go with one Sportsman II - is it worth it?

If you like to fish windy points and shorelines, absolutely. I just sold 2 8 foot poles and replaced with a 12 foot Talon. Awesome! Also, great for sight fishing.

Are you getting a pair? I understand they're pretty useless with just one. I tthink they would be a valuable tool and maybe someday I can afford them.

I have one on a Skeeter FX21 and it works great, just need to position the back of the boat properly. The problem comes in when the wind swirls, then you have to use your trolling motor.

Very useful. I used mine to keep the boat bow down wind on a drift. I use the spike to drag the bottom and keep the boat pointed down wind and moving slow.

Too bad someone doesn't design a single unit that deploys two separate poles a short distance apart. Anything to keep the boat from pivoting on a single pole.

It may be a bit wider than a single unit but it could eliminate the need for two if designed right and it would not be as costly as two (Maybe that's why someone hasn't made one).

Just a thought.

I bought 2 12ft fiberglass poles on ebay for $22 each---they work about the same.

I have two Blades and use them almost every time the boat is in the water. Not just for holding on fish in shallow water!
PS, I install Power Poles and Talons!

+1 on using the Power Pole all the time. I have one on a Tr20 and love it!
Use it when changing baits, unhooking a fish, sight fishing, boat docks, etc
Boat positioning will take care of most wind issues and then you can still use the trolling motor to adjust your position.
