Someone had posted on here, a real good video of a guy using a Lew's baitcaster. It was a tutorial, showing how to set up the reel for skipping. He was skipping under docks and walk ways, while telling how it is done. I have searched for this but, can not find it. Does anyone know about this and have a link to it?
Thanks, Sideiron

Those are sick videos. I can get the baits in those spots but only by pitching and "hovering" the bait just above water as I pitch. But I can't get it as far as those guys.
I understand it's the user, but honestly do u guys think that Diawa equipment isn't superior? I also found I do better with braid (specifically power pro super slick) because when I do foul it, it does not kink on me. Thoughts?

Nevermind, I see the Diawa is on the 'heavier' side of reel and I've just grown to used to lighter set ups. For my next frog rod I have it boiled down to the new Abu Rocket vs Shimano Ci4.

C'mon! My Daiwas weigh less than 5.5oz each. Lol. That's not considered heavy. Lol. One of my Ito modded Steez reels is a 7.9:1 reel and it weighs in at 5.2oz. And that's the one I use for braided line and XH rod. My XH 7'4" frog rod/reel combo, spooled with braid weighs in just a tiny bit over 10oz. I know some REELS THAT WEIGH MORE THAN MY ENTIRE COMBO. Now the weight savings comes at a premium price. And to some it's crazy. But to say a Daiwa is heavy is nuts.

Outside of the Steez, pretty much every one of Daiwa's reels is heavier than comparable competitive models...

I will take my Old Green Curado 200! Learn how to skip lures with a baitcaster because it allows you to cover more water and get lures where many cannot! I can skip with a 5500 garica as well. The reel is just a tool that you need to learn how to use. You don't need a $300 reel and rod to be able to skip! You need to develop a feel for the action of the rod you are holding and the lure tied on the end! Oh an by the way no matter how good you are at skipping with a baitcaster everyone piles a reel up now and then!
