Fished yesterday on Welsh with about oh I'd say about 100 other boats, water temps hovering around 75 now for most the lake. Caught a few spawners and few here and there. But going out today to a small local lake - cold water. Gonna throw a red trap and jig around see what happens. Will try and post water temps and conditions later. Any other reports or water temps be appreciated on here for area lakes in and around the Paris area.

From what I have experienced in the past
February - Toledo Bend, Big Sam, Palestine
March - Lake O the Pines, Tyler, Fork, Richland Chambers
April - Pat Mayse, Bonham, Ray Roberts, Eagle Mountain, Benbrook, Possum Kingdom
May - Lake Arlington, Ray Roberts

50 degrees on Crockett today, fish still out nothing staged yet.

I'm too much of a novice to provide quality input but seems like Mark is right. Two different guides put customers on 8, 9.5# fish today and they said they where moving up. Weather the next few days may stagnate the movement but the weather the past few days has been amazingly nice for January. Nothing like last year.

I forgot to ask, Mark when will the frog bite start? I can't wait!

For me it will be sometime in April but once the water is over 55 or so it can't hurt to pitch one if it feels right. Not gonna get a lot of bites but you might get lucky. I am really gonna spend a day or two throwing them over beds as well.
