Looks like we're heading to Florida this summer and I definitely want to hit up Okeechobee while we're there. Do y'all have any recommendations for guides on the lake?

Just fished yesterday with Kevin Long out of Roland Martins Marina, Great guy and a really nice place. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the guides there.

Fished with Scott Kerslake Just 4 Bass last October. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day. The fishing had been very slow, but we had a great day and ended up with 75 with 1/2 of them over 4 lbs. The thing that really stood out (even from the fantastic fishing) was the way we were treated. We started with 6 dozen shiners which were gone by noon. Scott was able to arrange on lake delivery of another six dozen, which were gone by 3. Even though we had completed our full day fishing, Scott ordered another 3 dozen for delivery and allowed us to keep on fishing. On this last batch, my partner caught his personal best and it really made his trip. Okeechobee is a fantastic lake, enjoy your trip....

Joey, Were y'all using artificial or live bait? I've noticed a lot of good reviews about Mark, but none of them mentioned that fact.

I fish Okeechobee every year and stay at Roland Martin's Marina. I know most of the guys guiding and I would highly recommend Capt. Tom Mann Jr. He fishes shiners or artificial...your choice or you can do both on same day. Call the Marina and ask for a trip with Jr.! or PM me and I can get you in contact with him.

Artificial baits only. We fished swim jigs early, flipping jigs, then ended the day with light crank baits and caught fish on every cast.
We didn't catch any Giants, but numerous 3-4 pounders. My wife actually out fished me for the day on numbers and quality.
You won't be disappointed with Mark. Look him up on Facebook. He will post pics of catches in real time daily.

Captain Shane seems like a decent guy. Check his you tube channel. Or Scott Martin.
