Anyone ever have a problem with the pin in front of the hinge pin coming out? I noticed this weekend that my motor would not go down. It is hitting the pin that is coming out. Easy to knock back in, but it keeps moving back out. I dont seewhere there are any clips to hold it in place. Any suggestions short of a new fortex?

Mine has always done that. I keep it hammered in. Be careful and not slam your motor down on that bolt! I did that once and broke another hinge bolt. Had to use a reverse drill to get it out to replace. I did find the new hinge bolt at southwest parts.

Mine did it too. I ordered two new pins(in case my plan didn't work), And took it to the anvil and used a hammer to mushroom one end of the pin. I then tapped it back into place and it hasn't budged again. Note that the pin will bend so don't just beat the heck out of it, just go easy on it. If it does bend a little, just straighten it out.

Tap a no.8 or 10 hole drilled diagonally into the side the pin comes out and install a set screw. It will never be a problem again.

Don't think getting a fortrex will fix your problems. Getting a fortrex will only make things worse! those coupling in a foretrex never stay put.

Try a hair pin type cotter pin. I drilled a hole through the hinge-pin right at the inside edge of the mount on the side that the hinge pin was sliding out towards and slipped in a hair pin style cotter pin. The hinge pin could no longer slide out because the hair pin would stop it. I don't have the mount any longer so a picture is impossible but once done it never was an issue again. A five cent permanent fix.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
