What rod, reel and line do you use? Time to get with the program and start throwing one.

Shimano A-rig rod, Lews HD 5.4-1, 65 pound braid.
Reel time rod MHX, same reel and line as above.
The MHX rod is quite a bit lighter in weight than the Shimano and I also think it is better balanced.

Check out Shane's Baits 9 wire rig. Built lighter than most a-rigs. Use his 1/16 oz heads as well. I smashed them this afternoon on Fork. 6' to 12' Best 5 a conservative 22 lbs. I use 65lb braid and a lighter action rod so the fish can load up on it and fight without ripping the hooks out.

shimano cruicial swimbait rod 7'11" XH or Impulse swimbait rod 7'9" H with revo winch on both. 65lb sunline braid for the shimano rod and 50lb braid for the impulse. I like the lighter braid personally.

Get a 7'8" to 8' heavy swim bait rod rated for at least 4oz, wide spool reel and 50-65 lb braid or 17-25lb mono or fluorocarbon depending on cover you are around.
I like a 6.4.1 reel and the right rod makes all the difference. I have fished it in 40+ feet of water and the right rod makes it easier to throw when you are throwing five 1/2-3/4oz heads and big 5-7 inch baits...

I know I struggled with this as well and went through a few until I found the set up I liked, my is a 8' rod, heavy with a fast tip, it has a long handle on it and that makes the biggest difference because you will not be wore out at the end of the day, I use a 5.4 speed reel to help me slow down the bait some, I ise 25 lb fluorocarbon. I really like the set up and really enjoy throwing this rig with it.
I am blessed to have a opportunity to live a childhood dream as a professional wrestler

Forgot to mention the one rod I've been using a lot lately is the iROD bama rig rod. Been throwing it all day for 3 days and so far it hasn't wore me out any. Picked it up at the Mesquite show for $90 brand new. I think they retail for $150

Not to hijack this thread... but for those of you that throw it a lot. What's your trick to getting it back when its hung up in deep water where you can't reach it with your rod tip? (Besides using light wire hooks)
