Are there any good fishing kayaks for under $350? The cheaper, the better. I was looking at the Sun Dolphin Bali 10' Sit-On Kayak, how does that work. Im looking to park my truck and paddle a little to marshes in Galveston Bay. I want to be able to stand on it to sight cast. Not expecting anything great, but want it to be functional.
Any ideas?

Look for used. You can probably find something for a good deal around that price. I doubt you'll be able to find something you can stand up on though at that price unless your a monkey... Look for the perception sport pescador 12'. It's a great yak for the money, best bang for the buck!

Given what you're looking for, you might also want to think about fabricating some kayak stabilizers. Plenty of diy instructions on the net.

For something used, I would diligently keep an eye out on Craigslist, there are great buys out there, but you have to look at Craigslist a few times a day, you have to be patient and you have to be quick to respond to a good deal since the really good deals go pretty fast.
I brought my first kayak new a few years ago and have since purchased three other used kayaks off of Craigslist and sadly I paid more for the new kayak than I have for the the three used kayaks combined, but the new kayak allowed me to get out on the water when I didn't want to wait for a kayak and more importantly, had never thought of looking on Craigslist. Good luck in your search.

As said before, Craig's List is a good option for used kayaks. A Malibu Mini X sounds like it would work for you. If you can find one. Good luck and post up when you buy one.

Where can I find good used ones? This forum has a classifieds section, and craigslist if you do your homework and know what to look for. Guys upgrade what seems like every time a new product or accessory comes out, and they let a practically new kayak go for hundreds off the original sticker price.
Just one more cast!

1) The TFF has a used kayak for sale section. 2) The Texas Kayak Fisherman has a used kayak section. 3) There is Craigslist. Just keep in mind that half of Craigslist has already sold or is some sort of scam. 4) There is eBay. Just use the within x miles feature.

I have the Sun dolphin Journey. It's the 10 ft version. I've found that it's pretty stable, but I haven't tried to stand up in it yet. I won't even think about testing that until water temps warm up. I plan on fully testing this thing as soon as I can to see if I can stand in it. Everything else about the kayak, works great and is fully functional for a little over $300. I have already added an anchor trolley and it was super easy to mount.
