Congrats on getting a kayak! Yeah those lakes get bad in the wind. They start sloshing and it makes some big waves going in every direction.

I grew up on the lakes but in a big boat. The smallest boat that I was ever in was a 14ft Jon boat and those aren't exactly small or unstable. I'm used to the waves and stuff, but I wasn't fully prepared for everything. I pushed through it though. I know now that I can handle 20mph winds and not dump the yak. I had to learn quick or I was taking a swim in 49 degree water. No thanks. I'll learn quick.

Looks like a great place to fish and just get out, relax, and just paddle around taking in some sun. I've been kayaking for several years, and I've been a boater for most of my life, and I start to look for sheltered water if the wind kicks up 15+ as long as it's just an occassional gust, but if it's 15+ sustained I usually stay off the water.
Just one more cast!

Thanks guys... I thought about changing my name but since I host the Bank Bassin events and run them, I kinda have to keep the name. I guess I could alter it a little bit but idk to what.

Maybe on the windy days you can just get some good exercise padding.

A couple of weekends ago there was an open invite (By Christian) to go catfishing. It was suppose to be a calm beautiful day, weather wise. At one point, I was paddling as hard as I could, and I looked down to see my bait bucket passing me in the waves. I was catching so much wind that the current/waves were moving my bait bucket faster than I could paddle. Me and another Nucanoe guy anchored up in a cove and watched the waves go by. It wasn't a bad day...just a windy one. Now I've got another story to tell. Sounds like you were fishing in a washing machine.
