Anyone have the 705CB glass rod? I've handled the 704 and am thinking about ordering the 705 but would like to know how much more stout it is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any knowledge of the 704, I have heard it referred to as a whippy stick for small crankbaits or small topwaters. I did buy the 705 cb last year and it can launch a 3/4 oz rattletrap to the end of your spool, I really like the feel for rattle traps and square bills and topwaters like the spook or sexy dawg.. Haven't caught a large fish on it yet so can't say how it handles bigger fish.. So far I have been happy with the rod.. Hopefully will use it more this year.

I have the 705 CBMF Glass. I use it for square bills and medium diving crankbaits and traps. It's an awesome rod. You won't be disappointed.

It's a great square bill rod. By far my favorite glass square bill rod that I have ever used. I have thrown 1.5-3.5 square bills and it handles all 3 sizes great. It also works real nice for big jerk baits like the smith wick perfect 10

I have the 705cb glass and love it! Square bills, DT-4,6,10 as well as jerk baits and the flat sided strike king cranks that dive to 8ft. Plus traps! I also purchased the 765 and like it as well, a little more backbone than the 705.

I have a mixture of Loomis, Kistler, and last year tried out Dobyns. I now have 5 of the Dodyns rods and plan to add a couple more.

What is the difference between the 705CBglass and the 705CBMF GLASS? Isn't the fact that its a glass rod make it a moderate taper?

I had the 704 and it is very whippy. It may have been great for smaller cranks but it just didn't make me feel confident with that much flex. I had the 705 and it's great all around square bill, even to medium divers. Chatterbaits would be good. I now use the 765CB for deep cranks or large cranks.
705cb=fast action
705cbmf=moderate fast action

I have used both the 705CBglass and 705 CBMF. The way I explain it to people is that while the rod is a graphite/glass blend the CBMF is slower and therefore more like a true glass rod. I actually prefer the 705CBglass model and sold the other. Like others it is the rod I use for squarebills to anything below 10-12 feet in cover before I step into the 765CB. The 705CBglass can handle those baits but I like to crank and have lots of crankbait rods.
