Guys - remember that show was filmed several weeks ago. The bite has changed since that time and it has been extremely slow in the last two weeks. Many of us have zeroed or had only one fish days since. So if you go - lower your expectations!

Negative, that fish was caught and released at Lake Fork. I know the guy that caught it.

Fished hard for 6 hours yesterday with no success, Tried everything, lipless, square bill, medium and deep cranks, senko's, carolina rig etc. Founds lots of grass, even fished the exact spot Bill fished. By the way, his last two shows on Athens have been on that spot. Talked to several others who also had a difficult day. However, someone always catches fish. Talked to a fellow fisherman late in the afternoon who said the bite has been turned on for the last 2 weeks. He had a good day catching fish on a Carolina rigged Fluke. You would know, that's the only thing I didn't throw. Indicated he lost a 9 pounder. He was fishing the grass at approximately 12 feet, with deeper water nearby. You never know, but he seemed genuine and said he fishes the lake regularly. Hope this helps!

Zeroed a week ago. Tough fishing out there as of now it seems.

I wasn't aware that Cotton Cordell made a one knocker.

Athens has been "spotty" lately. Don't think you can come here and just throw a RT into the grass and catch 4#rs. It is just like every other lake in east Texas, fishing tough and you have to work for fish.

The first show and the 2nd show were "not" filmed in the same location on the lake. The first show was in the Northern most cove/creek area, the latest show was the southwest cove of the dam bay.

Just a word of caution: no Marina, no restaurant, no RV park ........ don't leave valuables in site, don't leave anything in the bed of your truck.

try throwing a DD crank in black n sliver on the western lake points,,,,,,,,this area never gets talked about......but it does produce nice fish.

Always enjoy the show. Thank you Mr Jones for the internet set up. I recently switched to Dish Network and get the outdoor package and was very disapointed to see the show wasnt in HD. On my computer I get it in HD and the camera work and just the overall quality of the show is wonderful.

Monte Coon is on the show next month fishing Squaw.

Cotton Cordell made many different variations of lipless crank baits including the "hot spot" with was also known as the "one knock" It has a single lead ball inside.
Cordell also made "floating spots" "rattlin' spots" "super spots" "top spots" "thin spots" among several other variations.
