Got a chance to do some cold weather fishing at Lake El Butto. Started for bass, but got no bites so I switched to the crappie rig working Thump Buddies from Lane Palmer. Lane is a great guy and a pleasure to do business with. He threw in some extra goodies with my last order as well, which is always greatly appreciated. I started catching bass right away on the crappie rig, and eventually found a school of crappie. Wore them out using the Swamp Thang color, which has typically been the best for me. Only quit because it got dark and I was cold. Biggest was about a pound and a half. Biggest bass a little over 2 lbs. I've tried store bought crappie baits that look similar, but they never produce like the thump buddies. Lane's company is Constant Pursuit Outfitters and you can order through the website of the same name. He's also on here from time to time.

To sum up, they work great, have lots of really good colors, and customer service has been terrific. I will be trying the thump chubbies and thump jumpers soon and will review once I've had enough testing time.

John Butte, I am very glad to hear you're having success this early in the year. That's a great way to start off the 2015 season! I also want to say thanks for the good word here on the forum, and if there's anything else I can do for you in the future, please let me know.

Stay away from my FROG!

You will soon figure out how to make inactive crappie bite by letting those little legs kick back and forth, on the fall.

It is a sight to see fish suspended on the graph that will not eat, hold that Frog still, lift it slowly above them and let it free fall back down. They hit it so hard; they jerk the slack out of your line like it was hit by a freight train.

FROG SEASON IS NOW OPEN.

Lane has made a product that really deserves to be in some our major outdoors chains. I am an advocate for quality products and quality service and I assure you that you'll get both when dealing with Constant Pursuit Outfitters. You can't go wrong with a thump buddy... a thump chubby....or a thump froggie..They are for sure some slab widow makers and slab widow takers!!!

What's the best way to use the froggies? I am fishing from shore and working the baits under a float.

I'm sold on them. I really like the durability of them Thumpers.
It's obvious by all the other posts that they work.
Wow something that works and lasts a long time. Atta Boy Lane !!!

John Butte, I prefer to pitch the bait around structure, watching my line while it slowly falls. I also like to move it very slowly up and down while vertically jigging, making sure to bump the brush as I do so. Movement is key. I personally have not fished a Thump Jumper under a bobber, but during the spawn, I don't know why it wouldn't work. When the fish are spawning, they will literally hit any jig on the market, assuming it's presented correctly.
