I know potatoes, onions, lettuce and spinach can be planted now. What about carrots, beets, radishes? Theses would be from seed. The packet says after danger of frost but I thought these were similar to the onions and frost would not effect them if planted now. Oh also peas? Thanks.

Don't know about carrots or beets but radishes and most greens like collards and turnips should be ok . Broccoli and cabbage sets should be fine as well . I think I'd wait a while on peas . Be prepared to cover any seedlings if a frost comes . The smaller the plant , the more delicate it is .

If you are talking about established plants and not seeds, probably late March if we continue to get late frosts like the last couple of years.

I've got some seeds sprouting in indoors planters. Hopefully I can get them going pretty good over the next few weeks and transplant outside.

I planted my tomatoes, jalapeno and bell pepper seeds indoors around Christmas. They are all about 6" tall now (measuring from the top of the soil). There are a total of 21 plants ready to go outdoors, which I normally do during the kids Spring Break, but I think I might hold off another week or so until the end of March. Last few times I transplanted early I fought with covering/uncovering them when we got those late cold fronts.

Sure hope we are finished with the real cold weather. I took my little solar shield off the garden today. Evey thing is looking good. I planted everything that had sprouted that was large enough. Still need the squash and cucumbers to sprout. I may have to get new seed as they have been potted for three weeks, and the other stuff about 40 days.

gotta take the wall-o-waters off 2dy...startin' 2 grow out the top
eatin' onions planted 12/2...carrots/beets up good
gonna put another load of garden soil n this garden and start puttin' n the plants/seeds

took off the w-o-w...already blooming

trimmed up and added dirt up to the top of the plant

sprinkled epsom salt around the base and mulched...put the dr pepper bottle n there to add liquid trifecta (fish emulsion/seaweed/molasses)

onions planted 12/2 ... peppers still n the w-o-w's...carrots/beets around the outside edge of onions
