Banker, you hit the nail right on the head, winter is good for sure & spring/summer is outstanding. Last yr i caught longear up to 7 inches which is my personal best when it comes to longear.I feel like going right now but,the river came up considerably & the banks are a mess right now.

Finding a bunch of HUNGRY LONGEAR no matter what time of year is hard to beat! I do love those spring and summer colors!

Nothing like those river Longear! If you really want to have some fun, float the SA and some other rivers and creeks deeper in the Hill Country and toss some 1.5" - 2" craw plastics on jigheads in the pools and undercut banks. Some of the scrappiest, hard fighting unique Longears you'll ever see. In the summer it's fun to see them come rising out from the depths of those pool to knock the hooks off of your favorite bream size topwater/crankbait.

Nice ones Mike. For me it seems like March and April are the best Longear months.
