Hit the river yesterday,pulled a few longear out off the bottom on nightcrawlers hugging the bank.(most were on the smaller side) [img:center]  [/img] [img:center]  [/img] [img:center]  [/img] [img:center]  [/img]

Nice to see some Longear caught Mike!
Its crazy the debris you see fishing rivers and how high up it is from storms.

Winter river Longear fishing is hard to beat! Nice ones Mike.  I was able to catch a few on the Comal River earlier this week.

Thanks for the replies Dfitz & Banker,Dfitz it seems everytime it floods the timber & scenery shifts a bit.Ive seen a jonboat up in a tree once.....Banker i wanted to pull out my light gear already & try for some sunnies  Hopefully this will be as good a yr as last yr on the Sunnie side of things.

Thanks J moe,i was already chomping at the bit wanting to pull out my light gear......Im a panfisherman first & foremost. (still like to catch other fish as well but,sunnies are #1)

Thanks for the replies DataHawk & Jeffnsa,Jeff ive never fished Crescent bend but,we passed by there the other day we did some work in Cibolo.....today (not sure yet)im thinking about going to Cally around noon time....(gotta see what the ol lady says)

Winter time is a pretty good time to catch Longear.  However March,April,and early May are SUPER times to catch em. Not only are they showing off their spring colors, you can catch some FAT ones as well!

It was pretty crowded today out there but we got some good bites. My daughter caught a 10 in bass and between us we caught 20 plus fish including a nice warm out. A lot of people out there taking there little ones fishing, so it was a good day.
