Hydrilla, stumps, lay downs, boat docks and scattered pepper grass.

Go search YouTube for Toledo Bend. You'll find some stuff there.

There is bouys on the Texas side washed up on the banks... be careful.

If you are going to be staying close to Huxley Bay or launching from there, you can just fish right off the river up there; there is alot of creek chanels up there that you can fish and catch alot of fish.

You have already gotten a lot of great advice here...I run Toledo quite a bit and would highly recommend a $20 investment in Lance Vick's boat lanes. As some have mentioned there are several buoys missing and/or off coordinate. Just the piece of mind knowing you are on the correct course even if one buoy is missing you don't have to guess whether you are in the lane or not. I still depend on mine quite a bit especially in areas I am not familiar with.

Brings back memories. My partner and I fished an early March tournament that went out of Huxley Bay back in the 90s. Prefished on Friday and it was warm and beautiful. Overnight a norther came through and the next morning the temperature was in the 30s with a howling north wind. The waves were epic. I've never been that scared on the water.

We ducked into the first creek we came to, which happened to be Siepe, and stayed there all day. That was in the days before Gore-Tex and I was soaked to my underwear. Our teeth were chattering so bad we couldn't talk.

I fish form Housen to just south of 6 mile. In that area it is clear and full of grass. In the spring I would throw a spinnerbait to cover water, a weightless stick bait and a floating rogue with an orange belly.

I think the water will be quite a bit more stained up there and much less hydrilla. Crankin creek channels should work. Been years since I fished up there ... maybe decades.

South of mid-lake is a totally different lake to me.

Where is a good place to get the Lance Vick chip.

our so yall want to learn "texas lakes" is to help people because we got tired of the BS that goes on on this forum........ do not pollute our forums over there. there are a bunch of good guys willing to help and share we do not want any B@SSHOLES like here at texas fishing forum...... welcome those trying to learn.....
