It looks like the weather is going to clear up this weekend. I'm out of Houston and thinking of going to Fayette or Bastrop to fish this weekend.
I need to run the boat quite a bit to burn some gas and work on best setup. Where should I go and anybody have any tips? I've been out of the fishing game for too long.
Thanks for the help.

If your biggest focus is burning some gas I would go to Fayette. Actually I would go to a larger lake.

Fayette has been crowded lately with club tourneys. Bastrop is a small lake for running wide open a lot. Might want to head to a larger lake to run a lot.

Fayette is fishing a lot better than Bastrop.

Any tips for where to fish at Fayette would be greatly appreciated. I haven't been there since I was a kid.

A-rig the dam, discharge and intake would be the easiest way to catch. More sporting way would be to jerk and crank the same areas.
