Yea the stuff I was in today was jungle roll cast only don't slide in the creek. You may be glad you have a stash I lost three to brush they were holding really tight to brush piles in the deep pools on out side bends. I had fished for a while with only a few dinks. But it started sprinkling and they really kicked on for a while but as the front pushed thru it was like a light switch. Not another bite but hey I know they are there.

Have not heard any reports on the Sabine, but it should be anyday now.

I haven't fish for sandbass like...NEVER! are clousers all you need? what size..? colors? I know asking for a place to go for the first time is not appropriate, so I won't ask for that smile

Sabine has had fish for a few weeks now. These were right in the metro mess. Yes clousers are all you need. I only carry chartuse and white that keeps me fishing instead of thinking about color. They are the only fish I do this with.

You can join us on the Yegua in a couple of weeks Robert. Lake Somerville and the creeks are all flooded and the lake is above pool. This will be the first time in 5 years that the lake has been above pool, creeks are flowing and water is being released during the white bass run. There are already lots of fish in the creeks and it is setting up to be a great year!!!

Yea sounds good. I have been reading up on that should be some good size fish in there seeing as they haven't been accessible exept by boat. Not to bad of a drive from here either. I remember as a kid going down to brenam and touring the bluebell plant and going to the miniature horse farm ran by the nuns. I tried to go up last year with a frind in kayaks it was a sad site and disappointing trip.

Have a lot of people over for "fried" fish. Don't mention the type of fish, most people don't know a difference.

Secretly have some crappie on the side to fry up for yourself. smile

I cook sandbass on a pine board in the smoker. Make sure to soak the board when it's done throw away the sandbass and eat the board lol. Not a good eating fish to me personally I keep a few each year to give away.

Yea I'm with you there bass bustin I manage some private lakes for trophy bass so I have all the bass and crappie I can stand to eat when we cull. I've got a good size tub of walleye from this summer I need to work on that is the best fresh water fish I have ever eaten hands down.
