Monday, a friend and myself got on the lake at 7:30 am and caught fifteen off the 155 bridge on the south end, before they got lock jaw and they shut off at about 9:30. Today we figured that we would go earlier to see if we had just missed the morning bite on Mon. We were under the bridge by 6:30. We ended up with 37 decent keepers with several unders. And just like Monday they shut off at about 9:30. Caught on minnows and jigs about one crank off the bottom. No pictures because they were just 10" to a couple 13" fish. All in all, a good day fishing with a good friend.

Thanks for the report, pugman. This winter, I always get there late, and the best bite seems to consistently be early.

I got there Monday right at 9:30. Explains why I only caught two little ones, I guess. Well, that and because I still kinda suck at this whole fishing-thing.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. As far as color of jigs, I was using Slab Bandits Purple and chart, can't remember what the name of them are. I may need to venture out, Slab Bandits are the only jigs in my boat, lol. Most of the fish were right on the bottom, and later in the morning we moved up two cranks off the bottom and caught a few.
Thanks, Jeff

Well done! Thanks for the report. That does it! I'm going to have to set the alarm and get started earlier. Been getting on the water late morning all week with pathetic results. Guess crappies don't do brunch.
