 mercury tilt and trm

have a 2001 ranger 520 with 225 optimax, tilt and trim has went out on the shifter handle. still works on the bow and at the motor. started out just not working in reverse but now nothing. I have searched the web and cant find any info on mercury tilt and trim switches. I cant even get the shifter and frankly am worried about doing so. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

"started out just not working in reverse but now nothing" Sounds like + wire to the switch broken. Remove the handle and check.
