Deep fishing is as good as i've ever seen. Nobody at the lake the last two days (two other trailers in the lot today) . Flat been wearin em out deep n screwed em up on a spook n squarebill this evening, just fer fun. They ate the paint off my flutterspoon, literaly, and yes it was cold..

Looks like you're on them pretty good Scott! I sure am missing the fishing, but not missing that cold weather! I'll have to come see you when I get back to see what the fish are doing!

how did you fish your flutter spoon. I have only tried it a few times. Never did any good on them. Maybe you figured out something I couldn't.

It's only going to get colder this week. I have fished Fayette and Bastrop when the ice would form around your rod eyes. No problem! Just dip the rod into the lake. The water is warmer than the air.

Its like any lure, ya have to figure out how they want it. Sometimes a slow sweep of the rod and let it fall on semi slack line. Sometimes rippin it as hard as ya can, sometimes barely liftin it off the bottom, or slow windin and everything in between. Experiment, it can change even on the same school .

Spray rod guides before fishing with WD40 and eliminate problem of frozen eyes for the day.

Wasnt the rod guides. Look at the pic. Wd40 don't get sprayed on my reels!
