I was bored so I was lawn casting my new Redington CT and my Cabelas Windriver rod [my first fly rod] when this happened.


The third section just snapped on the back cast. Did not really want to join the club but got signed up anyway.

One day all my rods will be fiberglass.

I don't think Cabelas has one on the wind river rods. I could be wrong though.

I'll probably just send it to pearow sometime to get fixed.

I'm pretty sure all of the Cabela's rods have a 10 year warranty.

In my first nine months
* Broke one in the car window (don't ask)
* Broke one setting the hook on a bluegill (and Moon made fun of me, LOL)
* Broke one while dragging my kayak down to the lake
* Broke one when I didn't fit two sections together tightly enough and it broke at that section when catching a fish

I learn everything the hard way!!

First tfo I was vacuuming had a destroyed clouser and was headed out the next day. I cut it off and the rolling brush caught the leader before I got it shut down had four pieces of first section. I told the guy of the story and he laughed and said I've never heard that one and handed me a new rod. Second tfo I work 13 hours got out of work drove eight hours fell straight out of my truck into the white river and fished until almost sunrise after trout. As I was almost back to camp I realized my rod was still sitting on the back of my truck bed cover. I drive back down to the river turn around and start slowly driving back out sitting in my window operating the petals with a stretched foot with a headlamp on. By the time I saw my rod it was too late went over it four times and the reel with two tires the only thing I lost was the reel one Guide was squished just a little bit and they replaced the entire rod anyway. Welcome to the club lol. If you have a receipt they are really good if you are a smooth talker Cabelas may replace it even without.
