Need to get a fish finder installed on my boat. Need a ballpark cost on it. All the cables wired and connected, everything setup. Anything helps! Need feedback ASAP

I think its at least a 2 hour job to do it carefully. There is really nothing complicated or hard about installing a depth finder. The hardest part is running the wires from the battery and the transducer to the fishfinder screen.
I would seriously recommend that you do the installation yourself (after watching some youtube videos). That way you will know exactly what all the wires are for in case you have to troubleshoot it later.

You will need about a 1" hole for the transducer plug to pass thru

After watching 4 or 5 of the DIY's on YouTube I decided to let BPS install my new Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. One of the DIY's actually started off by admitting the one they were showing as an example was mounted incorrectly, in 2 or 3 different ways. The others did not look like a professional mount in any way. I guess it depends on your skill level. To answer your question BPS is charging me 2 hrs (at $95/hr) to mount the new one and 1 hr to move the existing one to the front of the boat. Whatever you choose to do I hope it works out OK.

Many have their own personal choice for their marine mechanic. Personally, I was very fortunate to find Cal Burch (listed in my signature). The man can do it all, he is widely known and works on each boat as if it were his own. Does a good job every time the first time. JMO....I will not use anyone else unless he retires on me...LOL.........

Installing a fish finder is an easy task - certainly not worth $300. Study the instructions and do it yourself. The only hard part is mounting the transducer and if you follow instructions that will work out.
Good luck.
