I just got everything I need so I can power up my HDS Gen2 units in the house. I understand you can edit waypoints...and I guess you can add waypoints but not sure what else you can do. If I go to demo mode and tweak the settings will they stay where I put them when I use the units in the boat. Any input from you guys doing this would be appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to do anything with the unit in the house that you can do in the boat.

Extra power cord and in-line fuse to unit from a 12V power supply. Here is the one I'm using from Radio Shack. 13.8VDC Power Supply

My GPS signal doesn't work in the house. Have to go out on back porch. Even without GPS signal on a touch unit you can still touch points on screen for new waypoints. You just can't enter gps coordinates for waypoint without signal. I use my cord in the house all the time setting new waypoints on potential fishing spots. Helps you explore and understand your unit better by using it when your not actively looking for fish at the lake.
