Help us pick a lake in the metroplex for a March tournament other than squaw creek... but it may stay at squaw...

I use to subscribe to Honey Hole magazine back in the 90's and year after year February and March had great reports on Palestine. I've never fished it, but I've seen Bill Wilcox fish it a couple of years in a row on Honey Hole and he's wearing them out as early as Janurary. I was cutting my teeth on Ray Roberts back then, but after years and years up there, I learned for this area you go East early, a lot of clubs don't have January tournaments because of the cold. East Texas Lakes have lots of grass, which will hold the fish shallow, so go East Early. The longer days start to trigger those big girls to move up more than water temp. A tournament schedule should start south and east and slowly move west and north to get the best activity of the fish. I've caught bass bedding on Ray Roberts in June. I've caught bass on beds in early March on Lake Pinkston. On a year like this with the low water we have, you need to have short term planning and a backup in case the lake's access goes away.

My bad, I did fish it for about two hours a few years ago in April and got chased off the lake in 30 minutes due to bad weather.
