IS it just me or has the Ft Worth Cabelas gone or is going bad,
it appears to me that they must be hurting financially because every time
I go in there the first thing they say is save $25.00 when you get our Cabela
card. I have noticed the moral of the employees has gone way down and the ones
that were good employees in the fishing department and boat sales are no longer
there. I don't know what is going on there but it's not just in fishing and boat
sales, even in he hunting, guns and archery departments customer service has gone
south over the last couple of years, did they change managers in theses departments
get a new store manager?

You would be amazed at how willing to listen to your concerns these store managers are. Give them an opportunity to address your concerns rather than blasting them on here right away. They need and want your feedback. This is true of most any fishing related business as well.

Never have cared much for Cabelas from a fishing standpoint but their clothing is much better than BPS.

All of these stores-BPS, Cabelas, Gander, Academy, the online stores-all of these places are in competition
with each other and competition is a good thing for consumers. So even if you don't like a store it helps keep
the others honest.

I've been to that Cableas one time. They sent out a flyer in the mail with 7.62x39 on sale for a very good price, so I made the hour-long drive over there. I got to the store and they were out of stock. Had an employee check the computer, and so was every other store in the nation. This was long before Obama was elected and the ammo stuff went crazy. They just put stuff on sale to get you in the store hoping you'd buy other stuff. I vowed to stay away from Cabelas after that and I haven't been back since.

The only time I go to Cabelas if I can not find it at Academy because they are to high on most stuff. The Academy here in Waco is more into guns than fishing, the manager would love to see the fishing stuff gone and just have hunters shop there.

Or the line from the registers halfway back to the bargain cave a few days after Christmas.

I agree totally, I have Cabela's clothing/outer wear and boots that has outlasted anything else...matter of fact they are my work shirt of choice ! - I can not find a man'ly shirt anywhere else, they all have the fairy colors and I just can't get onboard for that non-sense...just my two cents

Trust me Cabelas is not hurting finacially. The credit card deal is funded by the company backing the card. 25% off one purchase vs some one having their credit card is a no brainier. The majority if people with credit cards carry a balance 365 days a year and they charge about 15% to 20% interest on that. It is a money making business. And they love giving credit to sportsmen as we have a better than averagetrack record of making our payments on time.

Retirement best job ever.

I recently had an employee help me choose a gill net. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He said he had been gill netting in the area lakes for years.

I am surprised there are still sporting goods stores to walk into. Everyone wants you to do business online.

I have never bought shirts at cabelas, kind of sissy stuff there. My wife makes my shirts from burlap sacks. Lol
