After 9 months, one of my trolling motor batteries died. I replaced it today. I have two batteries for the trolling motor, and when replacing the new battery I did all the wiring the same way. Problem is, when I plug in the charger it flashes on the side of those batteries, and the trolling motor still gets no juice. This is a 2006 Champion CC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!.

Hey Britton...could the charger have died and stopped recharging the original battery -- if it did you might have a blown fuse somewhere...thus no juice to trolling motor.

I bet you had new batteries, so I would start looking at the charger -- I have owned my boat a little over three years and I am on my third charger.

Good luck...

Would the charger have killed one trolling motor battery, but not the other one? What is also strange is that the trolling motor did not work before, with one battery with 3/4 charge, and the other one dead. Now with the new battery full, and the other 3/4, it still doesnt work. Would the charger do that also? Thanks Fuzzy, I will start hunting for fuses.

Sounds like a good time to invest in a volt meter <$15. Specially if you cannot find a blown fuse. Face it your a boat owner and your gonna have to isolate electrical problems.

Alot of set ups have in-line breakers. Just push the small button to reset, some also have fuses in-line that blow. I had the same problem years ago. It was in-line breaker.

If this link works, do you have anything that looks like the small pic with 2 posts, this is about 1 in x 1/2 in in size, a button is on the side that may need to be reset by pushing it in.

Matt.
