From safety perspective, what is the limit of wind spped that you would consider as not safe for kayak fishing?

Depends on where I'm fishing. On smaller protected waters you can go out with 20-25mph winds but it makes it hard to fish. Even in the creeks it will find you at those speeds and blow you around like a leaf on the water. Trying to fish something slow will be a waste of time when its like that. On bigger waters I'm like Astro77 and watch for white caps.

That depends on the direction of the wind, air and water temperatures the body of water and what I was planning on doing. If I'm seeing whitecaps I'm probably done, unless I think it's temporary and I hide and wait it out.

Anything more than a chop when bass fishing, I'd rather fish than paddle. I can take alittle more catfishing dragging a anchor.

Depends on how motivated you are. I have been out when I had waves coming over the bow and I didn't quit because I was catching lots of fish. Big difference between paddle and pedals.

Its tough much over 20 depending on wind direction. If i can fish face into the wind and paddle back with the wind, i have been in well over 30. If its a cross wind anything over 20 is just plain hard work. Keep in mind your personal limits and then those of your yak. Not every yak is made to handle the sloppy water. Summer time is the time i play with and push myself in wind etc. The risk in winter goes up 10 fold.

I hate wind on a kayak but I think 15 steady with gust of more then 20 would be my limit.

During the summer, the wind impacts how I plan and execute my fishing instead of whether or not I'm fishing. I sometimes think wind is one of those things that can play with people's heads.
On the other hand, in cold weather, I'm more conservative. If I'm seeing lots of capping or the wind is being called 20mph or over, I'm probably out. In the winter, it sometimes creates a dynamic where I'm spending more time thinking about the wind (I don't mind the positioning part... I can use the workout) from a safety perspective than I think about the fishing.
Of course, in the winter, I could also be using the wind sometimes as an excuse when my body says it moved away from the Northeast to avoid being outside in the real cold.
Nissley's recommendation for a natural high: kayak fishing

Joe and I fished main lake of Ray Roberts last year and I swear it was 30mph winds. The bass boats were running for shelter. I think Joe caught a limit that day. I never felt worried but it was warm weather. In cold weather I probably wouldn't chance it.
