I heve been using floro (seaguar red label) for about a year now. Not bad line just a lot of memory. It lasts about One and a half to two Months tops before I have to replace it. I am a freshman in highschool so it's really hard for me to always pay for line when I want to replace lures I lost or get new ones for upcoming tournaments. I was wondering if you guys and gals would have any tips on floro lines. I went to tackle warehouse and looked at lines and a lot have half good and half bad reviews. It makes me think twice about buying line when I hear of people who get spools of line that break on 2 lbers or while casting. And then people say "ohh it's the best stuff ever, never a single problem" about the same line.
All I really want is a line that will last me 2-3 months with conditioning before I even have to think about switching it. Thanks. I just don't want to waste money when it's hard enough to make it.

I go 2-3 months on my berkley 100% with no conditioning. It has similar characteristics imo to the red label. Invisx seems to not last as long to me and has more stretch.

BPS floro is pretty good and I think if you go online you can get it for 1/2 price, at least you could last week. You can't get every pound test for 1/2 off but I know you were able to get 20 and 10 which I use the most of.

just me but I've gone to braid on almost every thing, if I want flouro or mono, I tie on about 4-6-8-or 10 feet at a time,..works fine, last longer.

Quality line here. Watched a video someone just posted here today about spooling line off one reel to another to get a little more time out of it. With your budget it could be a consideration. Or just do like I did, I just bought a bunch of invizx off TW because it is half price right now and it will last longer. I got 8,000 yds for $458... You can even get red label half off right now, does not completely fix your problem but you get double the line for almost the same price.

I could not get along with flouro. I know it's got some good qualities but the bad out weighed the good. That's just me though cause there are a lot of pros making their living using fluorocarbon. Don't rule out going back to mono. It still gets the job done for a lot less money. When you can better afford it the fluorocarbon will still be there if that's what you want. Good luck!

Cheapest cure: use a half spool of cheap mono underneath the flouro......replace just the floor when needed.

Or, try power pro braid with a flouro leader of 4 ft or so. No stretch, no memory, great feel, less line replacement (except for leader), awesome hooksets as stretch is minimal.....the flour leader provides a shock absorber action.

You'll need to learn a line-to-line joiner knot. I recommend the Yucatan.....smallest of all the joiner knots, easy to learn, works with braid to flouro, mono to flouro, any line to any line.
