headed out early today . decided i couldn't sit inside any longer , so in the dark i headed west into the storm .
raining it was and more and more ice the farther west i went

the deer were out in numbers . yarded up for the winter in full force

saw some dandy gobblers out in a pasture as well ..... and more deer

froze at spot one for about 20 minutes and got flat out skunked
never a peck and the rain came at me pretty hard

so down the road i went to check my hog trap .nothing there either
skunked twice in less than an hour ...NOT GOOD !
so i headed to spot 3 in hopes of some action of some kind on my jigs
pretty icey out west and pretty dicey in a few spots as well

the only good news is that there was a few fish hitting at spot 3
not worth a long drive but i was within 30 minutes of it on my second stop
so what the heck right
KABOOM

stayed a little over an hour ...got bit about 10 times
missed half of them and managed a few small fish as well

so back home i went for a hot homemade enchilada dinner i went
poured me a tecate with lime in a frozen mug and said to myself maybe next time
added a bit of salt to it as well ....
KABOOM
btw bait of choice was silver flash in the small fry for me today
didn't get bit on anything else ...

At least you had some scenery that was better than being cooped up inside! And you went and did something about it.

Looks like a good day to me, seeing all those deer and turkeys plus a few fish and a beer and enchilada to top it off. KABOOM!

I wish we had a dock with that much water under it.You couldn't hit 30-40 ft. of water from any dock on Tawakoni. Not even with the lake full. Here you'd hit zero feet, from a dock, unless you can cast 200yds.
