I bought a BVK that is loaded with what looks to be dirty Rio Gold on it. It has 3 inches of sinking tip......

The two lines Im considering, by reading a few review sites, are Orvis Hydros and SA GPX WF F.

Anyone have any experience with either of these on a very fast 5 wt rod?

The 2015 5 wt shootout by Yellowstone angler, says that the TFO 5 wt BVK is not really a 5 wt at all, but instead, a very light 6 wt. Anyone using this rod? I've never up-lined a rod before, but would consider trying a 6 wt line if someone has any experience with it.

i think the orvis hydros are on sale for 30 bucks. i don't normally like to overline rods but for 30bucks i'd get the 6wt hydros. if you like it great, if not it wasnt much money down the drain.

I have been using the BVK for three years and so far, the best line (IMO) is the RIO perception. This line is a bit over weighted and I just love it.

Perception has some very good reviews!

I did get the Hydros simply because $29 is just too good to pass up.

I have had both the 9' and 8.5' 5wts. My line of choice was a 5 1/2 wt both the rio mainstream and the SA GPX.
