Some days I don't have time to get the boat out.

Was curious if anyone in flomo, lewisville area has tried the old alton bridge creek or the new 2499 bridge. I see cars there all the time.

Thanks

Where along the new 2499 bridge can cars park? I didn't know the underside of that bridge was accessible. May check out the Old Alton Bridge today. Never been there, but with the recent drought, I've heard some say that it might not be fishable.

There is a gravel parking lot on heading north towards swisher. I see lots of cars there and people with rods heading down sometimes. Please let me know how it goes. I might try this weekend as well.

Well, I decided to scout out both locations today in the rain and mud. Did a pretty good number on the leather boots I was wearing, but it sure beat sitting in the house all day. I don't own a boat so I need to find all the bank fishing spots I can. Here's my findings on both locations:

Old Alton Bridge:

2499 Bridge:

Too muddy and slippery to try and fish either location today, but both locations definitely look 'fishy'. fish

Both do look promising. I'll get out there this weekend weather permitting.

Man that place is great when the lake is full. I still think you catch a few and you may catch a big white crappie in all that muddy water. fish

The new bridge is a very good spot, especially in spring time. We caught lots crappies there. But last year was a bad year, water too shallow. Hope this year will be good. We did have some rain, and the lake water level is raising. I do have my secret weapon for that spot.

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm going to need your 'secret weapon' too, since I'm local to that area. nuts

Sure looks like a good spot, but don't know how deep that area is under the bridge.

Under which bridge? Old Alton or the 2499 bridge? I will have to take my portable sonar out there and go give it a try. I can get the depth readings from it and let you guys know.
