Does anyone throw this Academy brand? I picked some up due to the price, just wanting to see if anyone has any experience with it.

I am not a fan. Better things to scrimp on than line. Truthfully its tough to beat Berkley Big Game for mono.

Academy has big game cheaper than the wal arts I've seen. ($8.99) or $9 at Walmart, $7 at academy

I have used it plenty of times and caught plenty of fish with it. No problems.

You get what you pay for! Yes; but sometimes you "overpay" for something just because of the brand name or the manufacturer wants you to believe it is made better. I have been in the manufacturing/sales business all my life. I can give you specific examples of the same products with different brand name/packaging that are sold at different prices. Just buy some and use it, you decide. different strokes for different folks. some on here say Berkeley Big Game & while that is a good line, I will only use Suffix Siege for my mono. It is just a matter of opinion.

I have used h2o brand for a while and I have caught a lot of fish with the line but I have noticed recently that the line has started to fray on all my rods so I put new line on all my rods and the same thing happened I've checked all my guides and their fine and I haven't fished anything that would cause all the fraying that has happened now I use big game line and I don't have that problem anymore.
