Good point , BLT on Squaw was a good example , we saw two near misses while we were fishing on a point .

The old saying goes "you cant fix stupid". Its a shame that something tragic has to happen before some people get it.

Should have seen the idiot in the black Skeeter on the Red River during the Champs Championship event. He had multriple run ins with people in practice and in the event. Completely careless while running WOT within a couple of feet of soime boats.

Fished a tournament at Fairfield years ago and that might be the scariest time I've ever been in a boat. Super thick fog and boats running the lake. There is nothing like hearing boats on plane and you cant see the bow.

One time we fished one in El Dorado, KS. My boater who knew the lake well told me it might be foggy. If it was he said we would run out of the cove and then slide off to the left and fish the dam for a while. We were boat 76 out of about 140. We made it over to the dam and started fishing and you could hear most of the other 70 or so boats coming out and heading up the lake. Pretty soon we heard one coming and it was getting closer and closer. All of a sudden I hear a guy yell "STOP ! STOP !" but it was too late . They ran a fairly new Skeeter right up on the dam. Luckily there were no serious injuries. We eased on down the dam when we encountered their wrecked boat it was only about 30 yrds from where we were when we heard them yell. There day was ruined by 0700 that morning. A wrecker ran a cable down the rip rap on the dam and winched it up to the top.

Funny thing is that most of those that do these unreasonable and dangerous things, like running in fog, are the same people that rarely, if ever cash a check in any tournaments. Seems those type of people and everyone in their respective gene pools are just destine for failure in everything they do in life.....

The last time I was on Bastrop it was so foggy I couldn't see the front of the boat. We idled out to a spot that was less than 400 yards from the ramp. I thought we were alone in the area, when the fog lifted there were over 15 boats within shouting distance and I never knew any of them were there

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst

Easy Biscuit!

I've found the opposite to be true... seems to be the guys that are badarses on the particular lake will take off and run via GPS in the fog. I cant vouch for this year as I have spent every free moment since the end of September in a bow stand, but in years past on Monticello and Squaw both it was usually guys that shold have known better.

Regardless of all that noise, yall be careful out there this winter and save a few of those big bites for me!

If I get to make Squaw on the 18th, I'm hoping the fog levels the playing field for me a bit.... since I doubt most will be wiling to run the lake, I'll be at less of a disadvantage in my slower boat! haha.... then again there are a lot of idiots out there....
