Hey TFF team,
I am in the market of a new boat, I have never purchased a new boat so I would everyones feedback.
Max price cap out the door: $18,500
Models I am looking at, prices out the door: $19,390 Lowe ST175 from Cabelas all standard $17,800 Tracker 175TF from Basspro all standard (2014 model with $500 discount)
A few questions that I have...
1. Should I be looking at any other dealers? 2. Should I be looking at other models in this price range? 3. Do you have any experience with successful negotiation? No one seems to want to budge on price.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Right... I was hoping I could get them to come down a bit, but they really do not seem to want to bargain.
I *could* wait a month and go for the Lowe, but not sure if it is worth the money.

Pay close attention to what motors are offered with these models. Usually the base model is priced with the smallest motor available and while it makes for an attractive selling price, you'll find yourself severely under powered and wishing for more power.

I had 2003 175TX for 10 years and not one problem with it. It had a 50hp Merc; top end about 32mph. Was very happy with it, just wanted something bigger. That boat is still running to this day and the new owner loves it. If you want to spend $19,000+ look at the Tracker 190.

Thanks guys. FYI, both boats come with the 60HP 4 stroke Mercury.

I have owned 2 Trackers and enjoyed both. If the Tracker and Lowe boats were the same price, it would be a coin flip for me, but you need to decide which you like best if they were the same price. Then you need to buy that one. You will regret not buying the one you prefer when you start making monthly payments. Just my opinion based on my experience with trying to save a few dollars. Better off being happy with what you buy even if it is a little more.

the tracker has a better hull design with a deeper V which will give you a smoother dryer ride compaired to the flat front of the lowe.
