Skunked for the second time this year. It's all your fault PK. Like I said it happens just not very often but I only had 3 bites this afternoon and never got one to the boat. The most fish I heard of being caught was 8 but I'm sure someone found em. It's a big lake and I covered a lot of it. I checked quite a few of my structure spots and didn't find many fish on them. My customers had an accident so we didn't leave till late but I thought we'd find em late like I have been but it wasn't meant to be. The birds didn't help today and my only bites came on blind drifts.

Oh no guess I'm glad I'm in south Texas then.

An experienced buddy fished bigT this morning morning and had zero bites. He tried everything I suggested to him. So good to know it's mother nature and none of our faults lol

Thanks for this honest post John. It makes us normal guys realize that if the pro's have a bad day every once in a while, we can't beat ourselves up too badly. What was the water temp today?

I burned gas from big mineral to almost Eisenhower starting at just after noon. Finally got one about 8 lbs just before dark in a gull flurry.

Sounds like a really tough day on the water. . I have little doubt you will make up for on your next trip.

I have had lots of skunked trips. It's not fun but there is always next time. I know it's different being a guide.

"Fishing Not Catching" That is what is is called for a reason. It is nice to hear a guide post a bad day.

Thanks for the report John, you made me feel better. We were up there 7 till 11:30 yesterday. After the recent reports was sure I was going get on Texoma and be a hero. 3000 unproductive casts later it didn't quite feel like that. We tried it all in lots of locations. Marked them but zero action. That cloud that suddenly covered half the lakes surface was wild. We fished the edge of it but is was way to thick to motor into. No fish there too. Will just have to go back and try it again.

Nice sun set anyway. I rather be looking at Texoma at sunset than be stuck in I35 rush hour traffic. In the past I've paid for guide trips several times that ended up being boat rides.

I always knew I brought the skunk with me when I went with fishing buddies but never dreamed it could transfer though forum posts.

Has the water cleared up since the rain?

Now I don't feel so bad because I was up there yesterday fly fishing out of my float tube in one of the creeks and only caught one 20" striper.
