Hello everyone! I am thinking about trading in my bass boat, for a aluminum CC boat in the 1756 to 1860 range. I am wanting oppenions on which brands too look at, and which brands too avoid. If you have any recomindations on brands or dealers in the East Texas area I would greatly appreciate them. Also any insight on ballpark prices of these boats. Thanks!

G3 would be my first choice for a CC.

I just traded my G3 CC 1860 for a SeaArk CC 1872. There is no comparison.
When you go to the 1872, everything changes to .125" aluminum construction.

The new SeaArk models RX 180 is .100 aluminum, but if you step up to the RX 872 it is .125

Boatright and Gandy White both embarrass the mass produced tin rigs.

Can't help with a tin boat. Love my Sportsman Masters 247. Not happy with the dealer this particular minute.

There is a boat builder in the Tyler area and one in Lufkin that will build anything you want to your spec. Not sure what you are looking for, but you might check them out.

There a lot of custom boat builders like the ones Pat gave you and even more over in Louisiana that will work with you to get exactly what you want. Otherwise, I have always like the Express aluminum boats for a production type boat.

My dad went from a 19 foot bass boat to a 18.5 xpress center console. He is currently looking to trade it in on a bass boat.

If you're looking for a very hulled CC, than the Scandy and boatright are flats style scooters. The SeaArk will probably be your best bet. If a flat bottom or flat with a tunnel is up you're alley it's very hard to go wrong with a bostright.

Man I wish you were looking for a fiberglass cc. I am considering selling my Skeeter Bay Pro.

You might want to look at Alumacraft. Oldest aluminum boat manufacturer in the US.

Here's the first question, and most important...
Where are you planning on using this toy the most?
Hull designs lend themselves to different bodies of water. A smooth ride is a deep ride, if you're fishing mid-coast and south, a non tunnel v hull will be frustrating at best to where you're limited to roam.

And if you've never been in a .250 hulled aluminum, you don't know what tough is, mine's 20 years old and has been bashing oyster reefs it's whole life. It makes a big difference.

My time in it will be split between local lakes and the river. I have a buddy with a bass tracker that we use on the river and it does ok. I just want my own aluminum boat. I've thought about a tunnel hull for my time on the river. I've also considered a surface drive boat, but I know I'll lose some fishability out of a surface drive.
