Lews really took a lot of the market share when Shimano came out with the Curado G series.

I used to fish abu until I tried Lews. This is me, i still use my abu's but won't buy any more, the comparable lews at the same price points are better. you have to go up one price point in abu to get the same performance as the lews below it imo. ie and stx is the same price as a tourney pro, but you need a premier to equal the t-pro. only thing i like better on my stx is the eva foam grips, but i cured that by buying the abu reel shop eva foams and putting them on all my lews that did not have foam grips(my team pro does and it's better than an mgx, had to upgrade the bearings in my mgx...)

My Lews Team Pro has EVA grips on a carbon fiber handle! I really think I like it as a daily use reel over my Steez reels. The Lews has a really great dual braking system and it is really light weight. It matches up really great to a Falcon Cara ST.

Lews really took a lot of the market share when Shimano came out with the Curado G series. Although lews are made in china the reels are superior and most models are less expensive than the Curado G series. I have owned both and my experience has been my favorable with the lews tournament mg over the curado g. I currently own sevral lews reels incuding the BB1 and the tournament mg and tournament pro.

My Lews Team Pro said "made in Korea"on a little round white sticker on the inside of the reel behind the main gear cover. Not china. Don't know if it makes it better or worse. But I dislike buying things that say made in China. I always look.

Very impressed with the ones I have so far! We will see how well they hold up in the long run!
