Any recent reports on brandy branch? Haven't been on the lake in a while and was kinda curious about lake conditions. I know there used to be a problem with theft at the boat ramp.Water temps, lake level? Any recent fishing reports? Thanks in advance.

wondering about this lake. Just heard of it and since Monticello is in the 50 degree temp range due to the plant shut down I am looking for other power plant lakes to fish. Its closer to me than Martin creek and hopefully not as crowded as Welsh.

It is a nightmare launching a boat when there is five or six tournaments going on

Being a electric company owned lake you would think they would fix the light at the ramp...parking in the woods is a joke too...but the lake is a great little fishery...the fish are gorgeous looking !

The ramp doesn't generate them any income and a honor system box would probably get stolen every week

Vineray Martin is only about 15 miles from Brandy Branch. I've never had an issue there but I'm not saying it won't next time I go. I love not having to worry at Martin Creek.

There is no more crowded lake anywhere than Brandy Branch, plus the boat ramp is just one single lane. Two years ago we had a club tournament there in January. So did 7 or 8 other clubs/trails. We weigh in at 4 p.m. but we were still in line trying to pull boats out of the water well after dark.

Well I fished Brandy Branch with my son yesterday and lake was just as beautiful as I remember. Water is gin clear and full of grass. Got there at first light and was the 3rd boat on the lake. Started out fishing a soft jerkbait over the hydrilla beds and ended up fishing a trick worm in the coves around timber and cat tails. Lots of fish on bed right now, and water temps in the areas that I fished were between 68 and 80 degrees. There were quite a few boats out on Sunday but still plenty of areas to fish. We ended up catching 17 bass between 2 and 4 lbs, most were in the 2.5 to 3 lb range. No big un's but still had fun. Never ran to the other side of the lake so don't really know what the fishing was like or water temps over there.

To SK1 - do you mind telling me if you fished the trick worm wacky worm style? I was up there on the 19th and had some luck with a Senko but some guys at the ramp told me they were catching them on wacky rigs. Thanks

Hey guys went today with all the rain the top part of the ramp is washing out,,so when backing down avoid the hole at the top on the right then about half way down ramp on the left is a big hole that I am sure will wash out if we get any more rain but if you back into hole it will damage trailer as a single axle was stuck in it when we got there this morning.

Yeah, I was fishing my trick worms wacky style that day. I'll fish them texas style from time to time but seems like I get bit more when I fish them wacky style especially on heavily pressured lakes. Sometimes with weight sometimes without. When fish are really finicky or days when you're fishing under blue bird sky's, weightless wacky style trick worm is deadly. Recently fished Martin Ceek with a buddy and he was fishing his trick worm with a jig head(shakyhead)style, I was fishing the same worm wacky style and caught 7 keepers to his 2. BTW,I do fish mine with a weedless hook all the time so that I can fish it anywhere(tree tops,grass,stumps.etc.)without getting hung.
