I'm heading down there Friday AM to fish through Monday. I know no one talks about this lake much on here, but figured it's worth a shot. I'm not looking for GPS coordinates. Just wondering if the fish are still holding on brush or if they've moved out to open water chasing bait, a general area of the lake, depth, what kind of bubble gum I should be chewing and if the lucky hat is working or not, any general pointers. Send me a PM if you'd like, anything is appreciated. Thanks.

Haven't been there yet this year, but in the past fish the river channel anywhere north of Patroon. Jigs or minnows will work. 35-40ft of water with brush or lay downs for starters. It should be on.

Here's a link to some Toledo Bend fishing reports. From what they say the crappie are still scattered some.

If the fish have moved up in the river then Huxley Bay is a good spot if there's room to squeeze your boat in.

Hello crappie fisherman. I'm new to this forum and started fishing at Toledo Bend several times. I'm still amaze by how big this lake is. I went out on a small Jon boat on Tuesday 17 Dec 2014 to fish deep for crappie. I didn't have a depth finder but I was using the Navionics map on an Ipad. I started at the Pendleton Bridge main channel pilling and worked all the way back to the first pilling on the Texas side. I had three poles drop shop rig with live minnows. I didn't catch any crappie but end up with three annoying small channel catfish. My next trip will be the chicken coop I have heard so much about. I hope the water will drop below 50 degrees soon. Any advice from this forum be great.

Hey bud. If all goes right I'll have a real good report to write monday. I know one thing, I'm catching at least seventeen slabs on that top secret orange and green jig Vernon made me today.

The State of Louisiana sunk fish attracters around the First three bridge columns on the Pendleton Bridge on the Louisiana side.
